Landing Gigs As A Wedding Magician

Filed under: Magician Magic Shows — maghyp @ 10:00 pm

As a wedding magician, one can have great opportunities in marketing his or her skills. There are many ways for one promising magician to do that.

- For example, during the awkward period while waiting for the couple’s arrival in the venue of the reception, you can help lighten up the tension by providing entertainment. Sometimes it may take a while for the newlyweds to come to the reception, and it is not a good idea for every one to be in a room that is full of almost complete strangers waiting for the couple to arrive. A magician like you can help ease this problem, and may become a vehicle for people to talk and laugh.

- In several receptions, there is an emcee or a show band hired to entertain the guests. However, watching a magician can be a nice alternative for the usual dancing. While guests are eating their dinner, a magician can give 45 minutes of laughter and amusement. Cool tricks can be performed such as floating roses that can be offered to the wedding bridesmaids.

- It pays to do some research. Find out if there is quite a number of children going to the wedding reception. If so, then a magician can make a special show for the children, providing a nice diversion for them while their parents mingle around.

- These tips may bolster a wedding magician’s reputation as a creative one when it comes to performing on wedding occasions. Now to be more productive while one is relatively free from wedding gigs, or just about any occasion, why not create some promotional brochures for your target market. Send out the brochures to make this not-so popular kind of magician gig more patronized.

- One might want to make a small “wedding planner” brochure, providing information on food arrangements, flower services, on renting a tuxedo or gown, among others. In the brochure, put in an article on how magicians can provide great entertainment in wedding receptions. Leave some room for your advertising. Distribute these to establishments that cater to such occasions. They would be happier to post the brochure if it includes their establishments in the brochure.

- Ensure that the magician can be contacted easily. The important contact details such as the phone and fax numbers, as well as the magician’s website, if any, and his or her email address/es should be included in the brochure, too.

What Is Hypno-psychotherapy?

Filed under: Hypnosis NLP — maghyp @ 4:00 pm

Psychotherapy Psychology is the study of human behaviour. It seeks to look at the motivational drives within an individual and offer an explanation to the behaviour that is demonstrated.

Psychotherapy is the use and application of psychological knowledge to help people understand themselves and begin to make appropriate changes, or to be comfortable with who they are.

Psychotherapy has several different theoretical models that have developed over time, the most commonly known being psycho-analysis. The therapy that I practise uses some of the best ideas from these differing schools of thought in order to help people achieve not only a rapid rate of improvement but also a lasting one. It has its basis in a cognitive-analytical model that seeks to look at the process behind thought, and understand how it has developed, and of course how to change negative thought processes into positive ones.

Hypnosis Hypnosis is a very effective method of treatment. It is a state of altered consciousness with increased and heightened awareness, which is often accompanied by deep relaxation; this in itself can be beneficial. Contrary to popular belief it does not involve becoming unconscious and has nothing to do with sleep.

Hypnosis cannot be forced upon people, but it is a state which people allow themselves to enter.

It is important to understand that, during hypnosis, people cannot be forced to do things that they would choose not to do. Hypnosis or “trance” as it is often referred to is similar to the experience of day dreaming, when you lose a sense of time and may without thought continue a task that routinely requires concentration, such as driving from one place to another but not actually remembering the journey. This is an example of an altered state of consciousness that we experience every day of our lives.

What is Hypno-psychotherapy? Hypno-psychotherapy is the practice of psychotherapy with applied hypnosis being the primary approach. The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, the lead body for the provision of Psychotherapy in the United Kingdom, recognises the practice of hypno-psychotherapy.

Both hypnotherapy and hypno-psychotherapy utilise hypnosis in a therapeutic form, however an individual that only practises as a hypnotherapist may not have undertaken training in psychotherapeutic theory and practice.

For therapists to be able to register with United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy requires an extensive programme of 4 years training.

Short courses of study that are readily available may give an insight into the techniques and practice of hypnosis, but they do not in themselves enable the practitioner to be able to address all forms of presenting problems.

It is strongly advised that anyone seeking any form of therapy investigates the qualifications and registrations of the practitioners they approach for treatment.

A United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy registered therapist will always provide information relating to their qualifications and registrations if requested.

A Free Card Magic: You Predict a Card Without Even Touching It.

Filed under: Magician Magic Shows — maghyp @ 10:00 am

This card trick is very impromptu and can be done with a borrowed deck. There is no need to practice and no sleights needed.

Trick:

You predict a card without even touching the deck.

Method:

You hand a whole deck to your spectator and tell him to shuffle it. You then tell him to count 26 cards which is half of the deck. As he/she is counting, you remember the seventh card. Then tell him/her to set aside the 26 cards counted. You then write your prediction to a piece of paper. Next, tell him/her to pick any three cards from the other half. After that tell him to put the other half on top of the counted 26 cards. Put the three cards in a row order face up. Tell him for each card how many will he add to make it 10. For example the three cards are a six, seven, and a king. You will add four cards to six, three cards to seven and zero to king as it is considered 10 together with jack or queen. You then add the three cards: six + seven + 10 (king) = 27. You then tell the spectator to get the remaining cards face down and count until the 27th card is reached. The 27th card is the card you predicted.
