Hypnosis - Does It Help Or Hurt Recovery?

Filed under: Hypnosis NLP — maghyp @ 3:00 pm

You are getting relaxed and intensly concentrate on my words…hypnonsis can be very effective. This form of natural healing has a long history of use; with there even being evidence to suggest that ancient societies used forms of hypnosis in religious rituals. There are many professionals that continue to use including psychologists, psychiatrists and by certified hypnosis therapists.

1. Prejudices About Hypnosis

Hypnosis is most often related to entertaining stage shows where an audience participant is hypnotized and then does crazy things, like pretending to be a chicken. Hypnosis is also thought of by some as a tool to use to aid with the cessation of smoking. Hypnosis can be much more than a form of entertainment of a tool of self-help. Hypnosis can also be used to aid in the recovery of illnesses and injuries.

2. Forms Of Hypnosis

As with the medical field, there are many different forms of hypnosis. In one form of hypnosis, guided imagery is used. With this form, hypnotist guides the person into a relaxed state. This relaxed state is usually accomplished by helping the person visualize his stress and release it. Hypnotism can also be done through the use of direct suggestion. Through direct suggestion, the hypnotist puts the patient into a trance and repeatedly tells him to feel a certain way. Since the patient is more receptive to suggestion while in this trancelike state, he is easily convinced by direct suggestion.

3. Pain Relief

Hypnosis has been shown to aid individuals with pain relief. In fact, clinical studies have shown it to help relieve pain in patients suffering from cancer, burns and leukemia. It has also been shown to reduce pain in women undergoing childbirth and in dental patients undergoing dental procedures. Hypnosis has been shown to be an excellent alternative to individuals who do not wish to use highly addictive pain relievers, such as morphine, to relieve chronic pain. In fact, hypnosis has been used by some patients as the only analgesic while undergoing cardiac, abdominal, genitourinary, and breast surgery. Amazingly, those who use hypnosis rather than medicine for pain relief found their relief to be far superior.

4. Childbirth

Examples of those who use hypnotism are woman to reduce pain during childbirth, and cancer patients claim that hypnotism reduces pain while undergoing chemotherapy. In addition, many cancer patients believe hypnotism helped them recover from the disease.

5. Hospital Illness

Hypnotism has had such amazing results that major hospitals are even beginning to use hypnotism to help patients relieve pain and recover from illness more quickly. In fact, the University of North Carolina uses hypnotism to help patients control irritable bowel syndrome.

6. Recovery

Lots of research has been done on the road to recovery on this subject. Much research has been performed in the effects of hypnosis in recovery. One study was published several years ago that found that hypnotism before surgery helped patients require less pain medication. These patients also experienced fewer complications and were able to leave the hospital quicker than patients who did not receive hypnosis. If you look at brain research, hypnotism actually alters brain functioning and activates specific regions of the brain to control ability to focus and pay attention.

The Joy From A Magic Show

Filed under: Magician Magic Shows — maghyp @ 9:00 am

Children and adults alike enjoy magical shows. Magical presentations are among the most popular past times among people of all ages, especially those who are fond of seeing folks who are clever in manipulating objects or controlling natural events.

Magicians, one who is skilled in performing optical illusion or sleight of hand, are particularly clever in performing amazing tricks. These very same tricks astound people and keep them from coming back.

There are several ways by which you experience the joy of this entertainment. You can either visit a nearby circus which are either permanent or mobile, and or with your friends who are gifted with this wonderful craft.

Magic Tricks

The very core of magic display is the exhibition of tricks. All tricks are done by using objects which either take the form of an animal or are turn into something spectacular.

Humans can also become subjects for performing tricks although current federal laws limit the use of human subjects in the performance of magic tricks.

Although magic tricks make up the most magic exposition, there are those that perform magic using no other objects but themselves.

Famous magicians of yesteryears such as Harry Houdini or Doug Henning mostly make use of material accessories in the performance of their magic tricks.

They make use of illusions out of the material (hat, baton, handkerchief, flowers, paper, etc.) they use which aim to amaze and mystify audience.

Even more startling is the event when other famous magicians perceivably vanish structures such the Statue of Liberty, Taj Mahal and the Space Shuttle. In a similar event, Harry Hudoini apparently made a huge elephant disappear in front of a large audience.

Modern Magic

Modern illusionists (magicians) are bolder compared with previous practitioners. Some worth mentioning are Jeff Sheridan, Franko B and the most famous David Blaine.

David Blaine rose to popularity due to the performance of outstanding, yet bold acts. He has performed levitation, animate dead insects, baffling illusions, among others.

Today’s magicians virtually abandoned the usual magic production: an illusionist pull a rabbit out of a black, empty hat, a glass of water disappear as it is maneuvered across a board, and pour coins from an empty bottle.

Current practice includes exhibition and outrageous production like being stuck in the ice for hours with no interruptions.

Aside from the aforementioned activities, the joy of magic is also incorporated in activities related to birthday parties, education programs, corporate events, and youth groups.

Self Hypnosis A Powerful Tool

Filed under: Hypnosis NLP — maghyp @ 3:00 pm

Self Hypnosis is a process of autosuggestion, by which an individual trains the subconscious mind to believe something, or systematically organizes the person’s own mental associations to achieve a given purpose. This is accomplished by presenting the mind with repetitive, constant, self-affirmative thoughts until those thoughts become internalized. The acceptance of autosuggestion may be quickened through mental visualizations, verbal affirmations, thinking using one s internal voice of that which the individual would like to believe.

The purpose of deliberate autosuggestion are intended to change the way one believes, perceives or thinks, to change one’s acts or to change the way one is composed physically or physiologically. A good example is if you are reading every night aloud a written statement describing how you would like to be and then repeating the statement in your mind until you fall asleep. Have that written statement worked out ahead of time, properly prepared and worded and memorized. It is not too difficult to remember them as they are rather short and it s you who composed them. If you have them ready and remembered, you can simply think your way through them at this point.

People have reported changes to such a nightly routine or such other methods of autosuggestion, for example, increased confidence, the conquering of life-long fears and improved mental faculties.

When you are doing monologue i.e. conversing with your self, you just talk to yourself about what it is you want to do, be or become. Don’t say “you.” You are talking to yourself, so use the first person personal pronoun “I.” Some suggestions can be more clearly stated in a somewhat more formal sort of way, like, “I am eating less and becoming more slender every day

Relaxation is the first step before beginning autosuggestion. With a tensed mind and an aggressed body autosuggestion wouldn t work effectively. Once you have relaxed then comes the deepening the relaxed state without falling asleep. One simple method is the count-down technique where you simply start counting downward from, say, 20 or 100 or what suits you best. Imagine that you are drifting deeper into deep relaxed state with each count. Other images and thoughts will probably force themselves as you count, which is natural. But gently brush them aside, continuing with your counting.

Never end the session abruptly but rather think to yourself that you are going to be fully awake and alert after you count up to say, three.
