Self Hypnosis

Filed under: Hypnosis NLP — maghyp @ 3:01 am

For those who want to power of hypnosis to work for them, but do not want to be hypnotized by a stranger, self hypnotism is an excellent option. By putting yourself into a hypnotic state and applying suggestion to yourself, you can realize all the results you want to see from hypnosis, but you do not have to put yourself in the hands of someone whom you may not be entirely comfortable with.

Self hypnotism is an excellent tool for those who want to stay in control of themselves and their hypnotic state. It does not require visiting a trained hypnotist and it allows you to give yourself whatever suggestion you wish to work toward any goal that you desire for yourself. Instead of working with someone who may not understand you or your reasons for your own suggestion, it is quite a relief to know that everything is designed precisely the way you want it.

As well, self hypnotism can be less expensive that visiting a hypnotist. By learning the process from a book or from the Internet, you can have all the tools you need whenever you need them. Instead of paying a hypnotist for every visit, you can self hypnotize yourself at your leisure and it will only cost the one-time fee of a book. Or it could even be free, if you read about the process on-line or through a library book.

For those who are looking for something a little different, self hypnotism tapes are very popular. By walking you through the steps involved in hypnosis and allowing you to enter a much deeper state than you could with other forms of self hypnotism, the results can be more pronounced and more effective. These tapes are easy to find and often relatively inexpensive. Thus, if a lot of reading is not your cup of tea, check out these tapes to see what they can do for you.

Hypnosis is powerful, but not everyone is comfortable being hypnotized by someone else. So if you are fascinated by the power and possibilities of hypnosis, but you want to do it in the privacy of your own home, or while you are alone, self hypnotism can let you do that. Whether you want to effect positive change, such as curing a phobia or quitting smoking, or you simply want to use the incredibly relaxing state of hypnosis just to cope with stress, check out self hypnotism and see what a difference it can make for you.

Magic, Clown Magic, and Magic in Clowning - What’s the Difference?

Filed under: Magician Magic Shows — maghyp @ 3:00 am

In this article, I’d like to make a few short comments about the performance of magic in clowning where it’s appropriate, and where it’s not. For instance, it would be out of character for a bumbling clown to suddenly put on a serious demeanor, and with the aid of a beautiful assistant, saw a woman in half, or levitate her, or cause her to mysteriously vanish & reappear. Any of these would be totally out of character for virtually any clown.

However, it would be perfectly in character for a clown to attempt to be the suave magician, and be revealed for the charlatan he is, either by his own bungling or that of his assistant (likely an auguste or tramp clown). Since the clown is, by definition, a bungler, this would be fine, and totally in character. In fact, once having been exposed/failed, it would be fine for the clown to successfully complete the magic (with the help of the audience, a volunteer from the audience, or perhaps with a clown assistant).

There is another way for the clown to perform magically, however. Something that we forget too often is that the clown is, himself, a magical character, a ‘toon come to life. Whereas the clown cannot perform magic in character (most of the time; if it’s in character for your clown to successfully perform magically, do so! No one complains that a clown juggler can successfully juggle, or that a clown balloon artist can twist latex into wonderful shapes without them popping), magic can (and perhaps should) happen to the clown, without his even being aware of it. For instance, it is perfectly in character for a clown assistant to a magician to be handed three rings, only to have them magically link in his hands with the clown having a befuddled expression as to how this could have happened!

Likewise, why not have the clown pull out a handkerchief to hand to someone (or blow his own nose), only to give it away/leave it lying and pull out a second from the same pocket (followed by a third, fourth, etc.)? Why not have things magically multiple, change color, disappear with the clown acting nonchalant, as though this is an everyday occurrence?

Now, if your clown doesn’t perform magic, that’s fine not every clown should, any more than every clown should twist balloons, use puppets, or have the same make-up as every other clown. But if your clown does perform magically, why not broaden our horizons a little, and truly portray a magical clown.

Magic Happens

Filed under: Magician Magic Shows — maghyp @ 9:00 pm

Those are the words in an advertisement on the television screen when
I walked into the living room yesterday. I was doing my usual morning
routine of getting the children up and out of the house so Katherine
would arrive at school on time.

Usually the TV is not something I notice. My normal words are, “Turn
off the TV before you leave the room.”

Two words on the screen stopped me in my tracks.

More common was another saying that tells us “Something Negative
Always (my translation) Happens”

I noticed a few specific details of this advertising.

1. It was provided by a company whose mission includes creating the
most universally positive experiences for people who participate in
their products and services. The company? Disney.

2. It made the statement as pure truth: obviously it is a belief they
are sending out to the world. They translate this belief into something
tangible each and every day to consumers who are ready and willing to
share in their vision. I have many personal experiences where Magic
HAS happened at Disneyland, while watching a Disney movie, listening
to a Disney soundtrack, shopping in our local Disney store.

3. The statement is supported by creating the context for Magic to
happen consistently, as I illustrated above. They don’t just say that
Magic happens, Disney actively creates magic.

So how can we share this vision, not only in the arena of amusement
parks, resorts, cruises, and other entertainment venues?

We can actively create a space for magic to happen in our lives. We
can support our context with the firm heartspaced belief that magic
is already happening all around us. Taking action towards magic
continually makes more magic.

Sure, you could choose to have a “Something Negative Always Happens”
mindset. Wouldn’t you rather have a “Magic Happens, and I am the
Personification of the Magic Wand” mindset?

Try it out.

Magic happens.
