Does fashion matter when doing Magic Tricks?

Dressed For Success

So you have an awesome magic trick you want to perform on
somebody. You ve practiced it thousands of times, perfected it
in front of the mirror and now are ready to take your act to the
streets…ok maybe not the streets but to one of your friends or
family members. But wait….what are you going to wear??? You
say What?, who cares what I am wearing? . Let me tell you
something, image and presentation is everything, it is like
giving your audience the total package. What is the first thing
people see?? It s you of course, this is your first chance to
make that great first impression on someone before even doing
your magic trick bit. You may think, I can wear anything to do
my magic trick and it will still wow them and you know what, you
are probably right, that is if you perform a great magic trick.
But you can take that to a whole other level, and that is with
your image. It s like shopping for a car, you first look at the
look of the car, the one that looks better is the one you will
check out, even though the uglier car may have the same sport
suspension and high powered engine underneath its covers, but
you see what I mean.

If you are dressed in just your regular jeans and T-Shirt and
performing tricks, yes you will still probably get great
reactions, but if you stepped up your dress code a bit, believe
me, you will leave even a more lasting impression to your
audience. Think about it for a minute….think of all the great
magicians out there from David Blaine, David Copperfield, Lance
Burton, and the list goes on way beyond the people I mention
here, you have an image in your head when I mention these people
to you, right??? David Blaine, he wears nothing to fancy but he
is usually in a nice black collared shirt and black pants, that
gives him that mysterious look….David Copperfield, always
dressed up to the T for his shows. Now I am not saying go out
and wear a tux or your best suede suit to perform, but be aware
of what your are wearing, it can be the difference from a good
performance to a great performance.

Chaos Theory, Self-hypnosis for Your Own Peace of Mind?

Filed under: Hypnosis NLP — maghyp @ 3:01 pm

Your boss ends the day with a stack of papers and instructions that you submit the report in the next 42 hours. Your significant other doesn’t answer your calls. Your mother sends you guilt-tripping messages. Your landlady ignores you when you tell her a part of your ceiling is leaking. You feel a throbbing pain in your temples. Your credit card bills take over even in your dreams.

Easy does it.

Take a deep breath, close your eyes and unravel your thoughts.

Sometimes, taking control over a chaotic life, a stressful situation, a physical ailment or an emotional dilemma starts within you - your mind, your subconscious, specifically.

And communicating with your subconscious - negotiating with your own self - can be achieved through self-hypnosis. How to do it? Here’s a sample basic procedure.

1. Find a venue conducive for relaxation: a quite room, with the temperature comfortable and the lights just right (not too dim, not too bright). Light a candle and incense if you desire.

2. Surround your place with sound pleasant to your ears. Play relaxing music. Bring in a portable fountain. Hang some chimes where the breeze blows. The sound of music is soothing.

3. Find a comfortable position. Surround yourself with pillows, blankets, and the like. A caring, healing sensation eases stress.

4. Tell yourself: “I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease. All my tensions, worries and anxieties are gone. I am light, I am comfortable, I am at ease.” Repeat many times while breathing deeply.

5. Picture what you want your life to be. Visualize every detail, every situation that you want to happen. Imagine it so as if it is really happening.

6. Repeat no. 4. Breathe in and out, and imagine yourself being surrounded by a bright, luminous light starting from your forehead until it fills the room.

7. Wake up when you’re ready.

Repeat this procedure regularly. This exercise helps you clear your thoughts. It may lead you to self-revelations that would help you assess the situation on how you live your dreams. It may or may not work, your goal may or may not be achieved - the universe has reasons humans may not fathom. The important thing is this: self-hypnosis will help you become a better person - calmer, more attuned to yourself, and more willing to help others. With your tensions and worries away, who knows what you can do!

Fear and Anxiety: They Are No Match For Hypnosis

Fear and Anxiety: They Are No Match For Hypnosis
Many people struggle each day with fear and anxiety. We re not talking about being afraid that you didn t pass your last test or anxiety over a job interview. Anxiety and fear become deep rooted elements of a person s life and can create havoc in relationships and make it impossible to function on a day to day basis.

Anxiety often creates a snowball effect of emotions that take place when something, even the smallest thing, goes wrong in a person s life. For example, for someone struggling with anxiety, even the minutest intrusion can throw his or her entire day out of line.

Let s say you are getting ready for work and your cat throws up on your carpet. Automatically your mind starts racing. This means you are going to be late for work, which means your boss is going to think you are irresponsible, which means you are never going to get the raise you need to buy your first home which means you are going to be stuck in an apartment forever and your whole financial life is ruined. In an instant cat vomit is equated to a destroyed life for someone dealing with anxiety.

Fear Is Often Related To Anxiety.
Individuals often become afraid of things that have led them to anxiety in the past. The individual in the above example may never look at cats the same way again. Fear leads to the avoidance of things that people fear and can create havoc in their lives such as the example given above. People may become phobic of snakes, spiders, clowns, chickens and many other things.

A New Approach
Perhaps you are someone struggling with fear and anxiety. You may have tried different methods including counseling and anti-anxiety medications to make it go away but nothing has worked. You may have spent hours in the self-help section of your local bookstore with no luck.

You still have one more option available to try and that is hypnosis. No, hypnosis does not mean that you are put into a trance by a freaky man with a pocket watch. The problem with basic therapy is that it simply uses the conscious portion of your brain. The conscious part is the portion that controls and assists you with day-to-day thought processes.

The purpose of hypnotism is to relax the conscious level of the brain and subdue it so that the subconscious portion is allowed to come forward. What is the subconscious? The subconscious mind is that portion of your brain that takes care of your automatic day-to-day business such as riding a bicycle. You have done it so many times that conscious though is no longer required for these tasks.

Once the subconscious is accessible to the hypnotist, he or she will work with you to rewire your subconscious. For example, if you are afraid of spiders, a hypnotist can help you relate spiders to something light and funny instead of something to be afraid of. Over time, you will learn that you are significantly bigger than your fears and can overcome them all through hypnotherapy!
