Can You Train your subconscious mind to enhance your golf game exponentially ?

The answer to that question, is positively and emphatically …YES!!

 

As a qualified NLP practitioner and a keen golfer currently playing off a handicap of 12,

I ALWAYS use some form of self hypnosis when I’m playing golf.

 

  • How many times have you let mean ’self talk’ lose you a golf game?
  • Do you call yourself all names under the sun when you hit a few loose shots?
  • Do you come off the course feeling miserable and annoyed with yourself?

 

All these thoughts take up SO much energy and create totally unnecessary stress, just imagine what a difference it would make to your golf game if you could channel your energy and learn to make POSITIVE self talk work FOR you rather than AGAINST.

 

Can ANYONE use self hypnosis to improve their golf game?

 

How many times have you “woken up” from a daydream and found that:

  • You’re driving the car on a familiar journey and you can’t quite remember getting where you are
  • It’s the middle of the night , you’ve totally lost track of time and you’re still reading that book you got engrossed in last evening
  • You’re so engrossed in a film or sports programme on television and were completely oblivious to the fact that someone in the room is asking you a question.

 

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you have been in a naturally occurring trance and have been consciously pre-occupied with one task while unconsciously carrying out another. Being in a trance is NOT like being unconscious, you float away gently but remain fully aware of everythig going on around you.

You know how calm and peaceful you feel when you drift awake from a good night’s sleep? That is how it feels to be in a trance, your mind is clear and open to suggestion without all the thoughts and stresses of daily life cluttering up your mind. That is the beauty of golf hypnosis, you don’t have to consciously THINK about it, it just happens internally and naturally.

We learn behaviours and habits consciously, then our unconscious mind automates them and keeps them on autopilot so that we do not have to think about doing them.

Do you remember how it feels to play golf JUST after you’ve had a golf lesson and you are consciously trying to remember all the things the Pro told you to remember. Do these golf swing thoughts sound familiar? ‘ Follow through the with the swing and keep looking down’, Transfer your weight as you hit through the ball’, ‘Finish in a strong upright position’.

It was amazing that you could still hit the ball at all with all those thoughts cluttering up your mind !

As a comparison, do you remember a day when you played GREAT GOLF and everything worked the way it should?

You probably didn’t think of your swing at all, you just pictured the shot you wanted to make, picked out the landing spot, swung freely and easily and struck the ball beautifully, didn’t it feel effortless and natural?

Golf should be like this when you take out all the swing thoughts and just let it flow.
